Rare Flying Porsches

This is a rare bird indeed, the flying Porsche. Only when pushed to its limits is a Porsche able to gain lift. But like a lot of things involving gravity, it is not the flight that will get you, but the landing.

Unobtanium write-up in new 356 Registry mag

My man Sebastian was kind enough to show the Unobtanium crew some love when he wrote up our C Factory suitcase we were selling.
Always nice to have the rare stuff, I just wish I could find more factory luggage.

356 Graveyard Part Deux

Timing in life is everything. Unfortunately for me, when these pictures were taken in the early 70s, I was not even born yet, so I had no chance to snatch up any of these cars.

This is the same field that I took pictures of in the previous blog post, 356 Graveyard. I do know this, the Speedster is still around and racing, the 906 was sold, the Spyder is back in Germany, the rest of the cars in the photos are unknown, some are probably buried in that field. Anyone have a backhoe?

Dead Speedster

This one was left on a junkpile behind the barn. Too bad they didn’t think to put it in the barn. I didn’t find it, I wish I had.

It made it to Europe where some poor unsuspecting A Coupe probably got scalped to make this Speedster live again. Poor poor A Coupe.

Russian Goldfinger 911

When you really have to outdo everyone it can be challenging. You are already riding around the streets of Moscow looking for ladies in your Porsche. But all the other cool guys have Porsches too, maybe even a Lambo or a Ferrari. So how do you show them all you mean business?
You cover your 911 in GOLD!!!!! Than you are the man, who else would cover your Porsche in gold? It took 20kg of gold to make this monster.

This is guaranteed to leave no doubt that you will have the gold diggers after you!!!!!
The worst part about it for this guy was he was trying to sell the car and it was stolen and came back looking rough.

What does a door say?

This is a question you ask. When you walk into someone’s house, if they have an interesting knocker, you assume they are interesting. When you go to a store you check out what it says on the door, everything from the VISA logo to whatever else may describe the business within.

Well, at Unobtanium, we hope our door gives a little insight to what you will find inside.

Hot Pre-A Speedster

This car is HOT!!!! Or it was too hot. You can own it for a mere $85,000. Also, a Registry brother was there a few years back and there was an Abarth and a 904!

Here is the description:

This speedster was involved in a fire. There are two holes in the rear part of the floor. There appears to be no rust in the rockers or front pan area. The engine number is 610320 and the transmission number is 7026. The hood and both doors are stamped 75 and 075. We have included two gauges and a steering wheel along with the car. We are selling this vehicle with a Certificate of Salvage Title and it is sold AS-IS. It is currently not registered. The buyer will have to register the vehicle in their state of residence, which may or may not involve some extra steps compared to registering a clean title vehicle . California buyers must pay 8.25% sales tax and will receive an Acquisition Bill Of Sale. This car will need to be towed or picked up by a car hauler from our location. $85,000.00
